Im CO2-Fu\u00dfabdruck von Biokunststoffen wird diese Menge proportional zur Bio-Kohlenstoffmenge gutgeschrieben. Im Idealfall setzt die Produktion von Biokunststoffen weniger CO2 frei, als Mais oder Zuckerrohr binden. Das f\u00fchrt dann zu klimapositiven Materialen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Im n\u00e4chsten Schritt wird aus den pflanzlichen Rohstoffen das Biopolymer hergestellt. Das geschieht entweder direkt z. B. \u00fcber bakterielle Fermentation oder \u00fcber mehrere Zwischenschritte. In diesem Fall werden aus Vorprodukten die Einzelbausteine, sogenannte Monomore, und aus diesen im Anschluss die Polymerketten synthetisiert. Der CO2-Fu\u00dfabdruck von Biokunststoffen enth\u00e4lt normalerweise die Prozessschritte Cradle to Gate, also vom Anbau der Rohstoffe bis zum fertigen Biokunststoff. Dazu geh\u00f6rt auch eine Gutschrift f\u00fcr das von den Pflanzen gespeicherte CO2.
